The seeds for the Estates at Laytonsville were planted when Betty Kasasa, Founder & Owner, worked as a nurse in a larger assisted living facility. She was often responsible for 10-15 residents at a time, and caring for their individual needs was impossible. Residents were unhappy and would often beg her to stay. It was incredibly difficult and unfair, and she felt hopeless.
Then one day, a new patient of Betty’s began to cry. They had never been treated with such kindness. This was the kind of care she could provide in smaller, one-on-one settings. In that moment, Betty saw what was missing, and what was possible.
Inspired by that experience, in 2010 she turned her own home into an assisted living residence where seniors could receive the personalized, hands-on care they needed to thrive.
Betty’s first two residents were Jessie and Muriel, clients she had previously worked with individually. She gave them attentive, professional care with the added love and warmth of a familiar setting. The result? They both flourished.
Since then, The Estates at Laytonsville has provided the same love and warmth in a smaller setting to ensure person-centered care that works. We have limited our two residences to eight private suites each so our community remains small for higher quality care.
Today, the vision of our family owned and operated business is to put the humanity, compassion, and love back into senior care. We provide a uniquely caring, beautiful, and fulfilling community that our residents love to call home.
Our elegant residence with fully furnished suites, peaceful setting, and lots of natural light will quickly feel like home.
